Tasting Room Sales Associate - Part Time

 

Position Overview:

Our tasting room sales associates form the backbone of our customer service experience at Georgetown Brewing Co. They work as team players with a positive attitude to provide an excellent service to customers visiting our brewery. This is a part-time, year round position.

Responsibilites:

  • Pour the perfect pint.
  • Assist customers with keg sales, safely moving & loading kegs into customers vehicles, and explaining use and storage of kegs, including how to tap a keg correctly.
  • Operate growler filling and bottle washing machines.
  • Accurately operate Point of Sale software for all sales transactions, managing inventory, and data entry.
  • Successfully build new, and retain existing customer relationships
  • Effectively answer general phone line, which may involve taking phone orders, providing directions, etc.
  • Act as ambassador for the brewery - promoting its history, goals and guiding principles. 
  • Effectively convey history of company and history of beer as a tour guide.
  • Accurately detail how beer is made and be able to give tour of our production facility to groups of 2-50 people
  • Maintain a clean work environment with a strong focus on safety and safety procedures.
  • Keep retail displays and merchandise neat and organized, and perform housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Work in a team environment to deliver fast, exemplary service
  • Assisting with the set-up and execution of special events.
  • Follow all Georgetown Brewing Company’s policies and procedures regarding wearing personal protective equipment, personal/team safety, dispensing pints/samples, and staff communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 18 years or older required, 21 years or older preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented with an emphasis on accurate record keeping.
  • Must have knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations including verifying the legal drinking age of customers.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to respectfully communicate with staff and customers from diverse populations, backgrounds, and abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate is required
  • Knowledge of email, Microsoft and Mac Operating Systems, Google Docs
  • Secure Mandatory Alcohol Server Training certification and follow all WA State Liquor Control board laws and procedures

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Able to stand and execute repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and lift 50+ pounds.
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, and lift supplies and equipment up to 30-lb (I.e., cases of beer)
  • Able to safely move 165-lb kegs of beer using appropriate techniques, tools and assistance where necessary.
  • Able to work in a production environment where noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Compensation:

$17-20 + tips
